Chapter Two: Gods

Those with god status are rarely ever seen by the public at large.  Their corporations, churches and secret societies can exist as independent entities and can run perfectly well without their daily involvement.  

Loyal executives act as eyes and ears to the gods and run their corporations, churches and secret societies.  Those with god status seldom receive audiences, so meeting with or getting near them is rarely if ever achieved.  

They communicate through their wartime consigliore or emissaries and consult with a senior staff that surrounds them or are available to them, 24 hours a day.  Most gods keep a personal counsel of ten or so men and women.  

These personal counsels usually consist of lawyers, accountants, tax advisors, bodyguards, battle strategists, and a wartime consigliore or emissary.

Each god has a personal army.  A dedicated selection of Supernaturals, warriors and gunslingers who impose a god’s will and furthers his agenda when diplomacy, bribery, lobbying and politicking have failed.  

Personal armies are so dedicated to the god they serve that they are willing to give their lives without hesitation to further their master’s cause; a cause they usually believe just as strongly in.

Everyone has heard the myth of the Eight Great Gods of New Front; that there are eight people in the mega-metropolis of New Frontier who are able to either control or manipulate everything that happens within the city.  

However, the identities of the gods are a complete mystery to society at large.  So their identities can only be speculated about.  Other than the eight gods and their personal counsels, only a few people in the mega metropolis of New Frontier actually know who any of them are; and of that few only one or two know the identities of all eight.

Outside the Warrior caste, imposers of will are people so strong they can make others do anything they want.  Those with god status are the ultimate imposers of will.  

But since most have long since given up sullying their hands they now enforce policy by employing physical imposers of will who impose these wills on the rebellious.

Physical imposers of will are people who posses a will power so strong they are able to force their bodies to accomplish phenomenal feats on the field of battle.  These imposers of will can push their bodies past exhaustion, physical limitation and defeat to capture impossible victories in combat.

Unknown to all but a few, there are only 8 people in the mega-metropolis of New Frontier with god status.  In respected circles they are called The 8 Great Gods of New Front.  Their enemies however call them The 8 Devils of New Frontier.  

And they are oftentimes referred to as the G8.  The eight gods meet once a year to discuss policy, mutual aims, quash internal conflict, and review, revise and hammer out local, domestic and international agendas for the next ten years.

Financial Services. Personal Army: The Silencers; a battalion of hi-tech warriors, gunslingers and spies that number 30,000 strong, strategically positioned throughout the world to impose the will of Lourde Bane. Number in personal counsel: 24 Portfolio: Bane Multinational is the earth’s largest, most profitable and most multi-faceted corporation.  

Lourde Bane is a multi-billionaire, and the richest man of color in the world.  He owns half of New Front in the legal world and the underworld.  He also owns two professional sports teams, the MLB team, the New Front Blackbirds (or Wild Cards), and the NBA team, the New Front Psychos (who play in Psycho-ward Arena).  He is also the CEO of Bane Multinational and owns most of the major media outlets in New Front, most notably the New Front Daily Herald. History Lourde Bane is the most powerful, wealthiest and ruthless of the 8 Great Gods.  

He is a corporate leader, war profiteer, and a master regulator of the largest organized crime network in the mega-metropolis of New Frontier. Lourde Bane built is multi-national corporation from the ground up largely through his genius level intellect and business mind as well as through strong arming, intimidation and elimination of his opposition.  

Lourde Bane is a decisive man who never shies away from making tough decisions.  And he is quite violent when it comes to doling out punishment to his enemies.  Lourde Bane has a corporation or corporate interests in every country on the planet.  He has a personal army named, The Silencers.  The Silencers are so loyal to him that they carry out his directives without question and without hesitation.  His Silencers are not only militaristic but infiltrators as well.  

They have infiltrated governments and rival corporations all over the planet giving Lourde Bane unparalleled access to information and global decision makers who act as pawns. Lourde Bane is also a charitable man.  He gives millions of dollars away each year to fund anti-poverty initiatives, the arts, clean water campaigns and third-world debt relief.  Some speculate that Lourde Bane wants to create a better world to create a better slave, one healthy enough to carry out his agenda.  But publicly he is considered a titan of industry, a great philanthropist and is a well-respected man.

Strengths Lourde Bane has the uncanny ability to bend people’s wills to his desire.  His primary life’s focus is conquest and construction; the global conquest of other corporations and businesses, and the construction of new businesses and business systems. His ability to do this is twofold: he has a brilliant business mind and when he can’t outthink or outspend an adversary he takes what he wants by force.  He has a global network of 30,000 mercenaries, guerillas and terrorists who do his bidding.  Each group is a segment of his personal army called the Silencers.  

Lourde Bane also has control of New Frontier organized crime which acts as a microcosm to how he runs his business globally.  In the New Frontier organized crime community only Jezebel Queen of Whores, operates independently of his jurisdiction.  This is due in large part to the fact that she pays him a percentage to launder money through his global network of corporations.

Weaknesses Lourde Bane is so powerful that he no longer recognizes his weaknesses and potential vulnerabilities.  None of the other gods can outspend him or outmuscle him for position in the cabal of the gods; they can however slowly whittle away at him and unite as one against him if he does indeed forget to do an internal audit of the strengths and weaknesses of his empire.

Checks & Balances Lourde Bane can stage a hostile takeover of almost any corporation in the world.  And he has the muscle to eliminate any god he chooses to with little or no recourse or sanction imposed against him.  He is feared more than he is respected and his word is generally obeyed with little objection.

Occupation: Chairman of the Banker’s Guild; President and CEO of the Central Bank of New Frontier and the chairman of the International Monetary Fund. Personal Army: The Skull Squadron; a unit of 200 mecha-armored assault troops. Number in personal counsel: 18 History The oldest profession in the world is not prostitution it is banking.  And Breton Woods comes from a long, ancient line of bankers.  

His family was instrumental in starting the very first banking institution and note driven monetary system in the world.  Breton Woods can trace his family lineage back to ancient Babylon where the first family patriarch sat on the board of the world’s very first bank.  

6000 years have passed since that event and Breton Woods’s family history includes Pharaohs, kings, and other dynastic rulers who were able to adapt into businessmen and maintain their rule as bankers even as the world changed and their dynasties collapsed around them. Strengths As head of the Banker’s Guild, Breton Woods is one of the most powerful men on the planet.  

The money of every banking institution in the world connects to his privately owned Central Bank of New Frontier in some way, shape or form.  And Breton Woods and his family have been able to maintain their power and wealth since the beginning of civilization by adhering to one simple edict: Keep the world in debt.

Weaknesses Breton Woods is second in power only to Lourde Bane because he lacks the appetite for violence Lourde Bane possesses, and he lacks the sheer muscle to influence others to betray Lourde Bane. Checks & Balances:  He knows how to crash the stock market in less than 24 hours, which could bring potential ruin to the other gods.

Occupation: Chairman of the Lawyer’s Guild.  President and CEO of Meridian-Chase, the largest and most powerful law firm in the United States with corporate braches all over the world. Personal Army: The Punishers; 25 fully armed Heavyweight Warriors Number in personal counsel: 12 History Thomas Sadist Strait is a lawmaker.  He is the most influential domestic and global lobbyist and policymaker in the cabal of the gods.  

Through shrewd politics and manipulation Thomas Sadist-Strait created The Lawyer’s Guild; a national network of attorneys and law firms that have united to streamline the process of corporate lobbying.  The Lawyer’s Guild is also secretly a union, one that encourages its members to increase litigation throughout the country and therefore their profit margins.  Whether they represent the plaintiff or defendant in a court of law, members of the Lawyer’s Guild are encouraged to drag cases out as long as possible to achieve greater and greater profit.

Strengths Thomas Sadist-Strait has the greatest legal mind of the 8 gods.  He can devise strategies to navigate around any law barring his empire from furthering his agenda.  This savvy legal mind makes him invaluable to the other gods as they rely on him strategically to help promote their agendas by discovering how they run parallel or counter to existing laws, and when in conflict to those laws, the loopholes they can utilize to get around them.

Weaknesses As a god his personal army lacks the sheer physical muscle of the gods above him and even those below him.  But his power lies in his ability to build and destroy corporate entities, tax shelters and networks with the stroke of a pen. Checks and Balances He knows how the corporations and churches of each god comply with the law, and how they break the law.  

He can easily wreak legal havoc on any of the gods because of this knowledge by turning state’s evidence, or filing class action lawsuits and colluding with other law firms and federal judges that can tie the other gods up in court and prevent them from legally conducting business for years.
